How can one tell, whether or whenever we dream?
The ambivalence of the colours, or here, the lack thereof,
the plants, the landscapes.
Dreamscape (2021–) is a collection of photos capturing places that evoke ambivalence and resemblance in their landscapes despite being located in different parts of the world. The compilation serves as the photographer’s exploration of the comfort found in foreign lands and the yearning for a different home.
One may say the photo series is essentially about landscapes and the impact of black and white. In this rendering, subjects become timeless and appear similar to one another despite being on vastly different continents. Simultaneously, it delves into the photographer’s perspective. The resulting photos capture her quest for what she misses in one place, finding solace in an aesthetic reminiscent of what is absent, of the other place(s).
